THE misuse of human rights laws is a joke no one finds funny.
So Home Secretary Theresa May’s plan to stop foreign criminals using dodgy human rights claims to avoid deportation is welcome.
It is also pointless unless the Government shows the courage to ignore barmy rulings by the judges in Strasbourg.
Terror suspect Abu Qatada is still here because those same judges at the European Court of Human Rights overruled our decision to kick him out.
And because the Government Mrs May serves is too timid to defy them — even though Italy and France have ignored rulings with impunity.
Talking tough is clearly a lot easier than acting tough.
