Three teenagers who chased and murdered a schoolboy in front of  terrified commuters at Victoria station were each jailed for a minimum of 18 years today.

One thug, Samson Odegbune had taken a samurai sword to school and at the station led the charge after victim 15-year-old Sofyen Belamouadden.

Five more teenagers were also sentenced at the Old Bailey for their part in the killing.

The 20-strong mob, some as young as 15, were armed with an entire set of kitchen knives, flick knives, metal bars, batons and other weapons. Sofyen ran for his life but fell in the Tube station ticket hall and was stabbed to death.

Sentencing, Judge Christopher Moss said: “At about 5.15pm during the evening rush hour in the presence and sight of many horrified commuters Sofyen was attacked by a pack of teenagers. Within 12 seconds he was left fatally wounded with no less than nine stab wounds to the body as the attackers made their escape.

“Nobody who saw the CCTV of the killing could possibly escape the conclusion, bearing in mind the number of weapons at the scene and the use to which they were put in a ferocious and merciless attack, that there was nothing less than an intent to kill.”

Many of the mob tried to escape on a C10 bus but it was stopped by police. They found a knife in a bag belonging to Christopher Omoregie, now 18, and another wrapped in newspaper bearing the fingerprints of Obi Nwokeh, 19.

Together with Odegbune, 18, they were convicted of murder and ordered to be detained at Her Majesty’s Pleasure, the juvenile equivalent of a life sentence.

Femi Oderinwale, 18, described as “the armourer”, Samuel Roberts, 19,  and Adonis Akra, 19, were all convicted of manslaughter and conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm and were each sentenced to 12 years detention.

Enoch Amoah, 19, and 17-year-old Tyrone Richards, who was 15 at the time of the murder and who can be named for the first time today,  were found guilty of conspiracy to cause GBH and violent disorder and were sentenced to seven years detention. The only girl charged, Victoria Osoteku, 19, was convicted of manslaughter and will be sentenced next week.

The Old Bailey heard that the attack was sparked by a trivial row between two groups of youths from different schools in west London. The day before the murder in March 2010, one boy from the group which was to carry out the attack suffered a bloody nose. As a result plans were made by text and Facebook messages to bring weapons to a confrontation the next day.

Oderinwale bought a block of knives in Shepherd’s Bush hours before the attack and told friends that “if they see anyone they’re gonna get slumped”.Prosecutor Mark Heywood QC said the group’s confidence came from their strength in numbers. “It explains why they did something so truly terrible that none of them acknowledge any part in it at all,” he said.

  1. I can’t wait to see how the 10,000+ somali enclave and
the stockbroker haven become “inclusive”, gonna’ be fun to watch. too bad the brainless PM can’t have a thousand
non english speaking muslims living at arms length so he
can tell us how wonderful the 3rd world stench is, wafting
oer’ he & his lovely wife, who if she isn’t guarded by the s.a.s, will be raped and beaten for being such a looker and a temptation to islam…

Me, lads…I’ve made up my mind…

I am not living in a world where there is no Romeo
and Juliet. No songs of great love…no Issac Newton..
no British Grenadiers…no bawdey local lads belting
out football tunes on a crisp fall day…no English gal
so lovely to behold that you can scarely catch a breath,
no old warriors a-smile as they watch children, careless
at play. Nor crazy sky to convey my personal limitless
    reach.

I will, in a blink, forfeit my life for the squealls of the children, the nods of the old ones and the beating of
    England’s fearson heart.

I won’t be afraid because many who’ve gone before me
alas had this on their minds…
